In a village between green mountains and peaceful rivers lived Joana. She had a generous heart, a cheerful smile and a head full of dreams.

Since she was little, she had wanted to see the other village children happy. Yet some seemed sad and discouraged. Joana wondered how she could keep them company and help them smile again.

Then she imagined a special shop, full of treats, games and conversation, where everyone could enjoy some happy time together.

With enthusiasm and help from her parents, she began preparing the place. They painted the walls bright colours, arranged small tables and chairs and decorated the corners with balloons and lights.

When everything was ready, they opened the doors and hung up a sign: “Welcome to Joana’s sweet shop!”

The children entered shyly, their eyes shining. Joana welcomed them with a smile and showed them what they had made: chocolate cakes, butter biscuits and chocolates in all sorts of shapes.

News spread through the village. Soon the shop became a place to share an afternoon treat, tell stories and play. Joana listened to her friends and discovered that her company mattered as much as any sweet.

She wanted to share that happiness more widely, so her family helped organise a celebration in the square. They invited children and parents to enjoy games, music and some favourite recipes.

Laughter and delicious smells filled the square. Children danced and skipped around the tables. Looking at the smiling faces, Joana was happy to have made a place where nobody needed to feel alone.

The shop remained one of the village’s favourite places. Joana kept looking after her customers and listening to their stories. “A little sweetness makes things better!” she said. She had learnt that small gestures, offered with love and care, could brighten a whole day.
