In a village of cobbled streets and colourful houses lived Dídac, a cheerful boy who loved sport. Every afternoon after school, he enjoyed playing football with his friends. One day, he fell and hurt his right hand. After a hospital visit, he returned home with it bandaged.

The following days were difficult. Writing was awkward, and he could not play as before. Even tying his shoelaces was a struggle. He felt frustrated and sad, although he wanted to find a way forward.

Seeing him discouraged, his mother suggested, “Why don’t we discover something new you can do while your hand rests?” Dídac liked the idea, and they began looking for activities.

First, he learnt to prepare simple dishes with his mother’s help. Then he discovered the pleasure of reading adventures and mysteries that carried him into imaginary worlds. With his father, he began playing chess, learning to consider his moves with new patience.

Each skill helped him feel more capable. He also started a diary, writing with his left hand. It was difficult at first, but practice slowly improved his handwriting.

After several weeks, his hand began to recover. When he was able, he gradually returned to football. Now, alongside his favourite sport, he had other interests and more confidence in facing difficulties.

When he joined his friends again, he shared everything he had learnt. He showed them simple recipes, recommended favourite books and organised a chess game in the park.

Dídac understood that a setback could open unexpected doors. With his family’s help, he had found new hobbies, and his experience encouraged his friends to try different things with curiosity and confidence.
