Tomàs lived in a little seaside village where waves brushed the sand and fishermen told stories of the deep. Fascinated by their tales, he dreamt of discovering the ocean’s secrets.
One day, walking along the beach after a storm, he found an ancient compass among the seaweed and shells. It did not point north. Its needle spun strangely before settling towards a spot at sea. Tomàs wanted to find out where it would lead.
With help from Dídac, an experienced sailor, he set off towards the mysterious place. As they sailed, rich colours filled the sky and the water seemed to shine with its own light. At last they reached a point where the needle began spinning endlessly.
They prepared their diving equipment and entered the clear water together. A light seemed to guide them. Beneath the surface, they discovered a path of glowing coral leading to an underwater cave.
Inside were extraordinary creatures: fish with colour-changing scales, jellyfish shining like stars and a friendly giant turtle wearing a coral crown. Tomàs understood that they protected a great secret.
In a deep, peaceful voice, the turtle explained that the compass was an ancient object made to keep the sanctuary safe. It showed the way only to those who truly respected the sea and its inhabitants.
Tomàs promised to keep its secret and protect the creatures. Back at the surface, he and Dídac agreed to share stories about the ocean’s beauty without revealing the refuge’s location.
From then on, Tomàs kept exploring and learning, always with respect and admiration for the wonders he had met on that magical day beneath the water.
