Once upon a time, in a faraway kingdom, there lived a young woman named Cinderella. She was gentle and kind and shared a grand house with her stepmother and two stepsisters. Despite Cinderella’s goodness, the three of them treated her cruelly.
Her days were spent cleaning, cooking and doing every chore in the house, while her stepsisters wore elegant dresses and attended parties. Cinderella often escaped to her small room in the tower, where she dreamed of a better life.
One day, news reached the town that a magnificent ball would be held at the royal palace. Everyone was excited, especially the stepsisters, who spent hours choosing dresses and jewellery. Cinderella could only watch them and dream of going too.
Just when she had lost all hope, her fairy godmother appeared. With a wave of her wand, she turned a pumpkin into a carriage and several mice into horses. Then she transformed Cinderella’s simple clothes into a beautiful gown and gave her a pair of sparkling glass slippers. Before Cinderella left, the fairy godmother reminded her that she must return before midnight, when the magic would end.
When Cinderella arrived at the palace, everyone marvelled at her beauty. She danced with the prince and enjoyed a magical evening. But when the clock began to strike twelve, she remembered the fairy godmother’s warning and hurried away. As she ran down the palace steps, she lost one of her glass slippers.
The prince had fallen in love with the mysterious young woman. He travelled throughout the kingdom searching for the owner of the slipper. When he reached Cinderella’s home, her stepsisters tried to put it on, but it fitted neither of them. At last, Cinderella was allowed to try, and the slipper fitted her perfectly.
The prince recognised Cinderella and asked her to marry him. She joyfully accepted. Together they returned to the palace, where a splendid wedding was held. Cinderella left her sorrows behind and began a new life filled with happiness.
Cinderella’s story teaches us about kindness, perseverance and hope. It reminds us that injustice does not last forever and that, even in the most difficult moments, we should continue to believe in our dreams.
