In a small, peaceful village lived an eight-year-old girl called Martina. She had one great passion: riding her bicycle. Every afternoon after school, she took her old bike along the paths winding through the green fields around the village.
One day, on her way home, the bicycle made a strange noise and a wheel broke completely. Martina was terribly upset. Her bike was so old that it could no longer be repaired.
Her parents knew how much she loved cycling and decided to surprise her. After saving carefully, they bought her a new bicycle for her birthday. Martina’s eyes lit up when she saw it. It was beautiful, bright red, with a bell that sounded like birdsong.
On her first ride, Martina noticed that many children in the village had no bicycles. That made her think. She talked to her parents, and together they had a wonderful idea: a workshop to repair old bikes and give them to children who needed one.
Martina and her family began collecting used bicycles. Volunteers helped repair them and make them ready to ride again. Every restored bicycle gave another child the chance to enjoy the freedom and happiness of cycling.
The project grew. Soon the village held a little bicycle festival, where everyone could try different bikes, learn how to repair them and, best of all, spend happy hours with friends and family.
Martina discovered that sharing her passion brought happiness to other people as well as herself. Her new bicycle gave her plenty of joy, but her greatest happiness came from seeing the other children laughing and playing together, united by their love of bicycles.
