Once there was a boy called Roger who loved football, especially Barça. He lived in a village near Barcelona and spent his afternoons playing in the park with friends.
One day, he made a spectacular move and scored a goal that would have made a professional smile. But as he celebrated, he noticed that Adrià, the friend playing in goal, looked upset because he had not stopped the ball.
Roger went over and rested a hand on his shoulder. “You made a brilliant save earlier, Adrià. This one got past you, but there’ll be more chances. You’re really good in goal!”
That evening, he told his family about it over dinner. His mother smiled. “I’m glad you look after your friends. Football is a game, and being there for other people matters too.”
The following weekend, the villagers gathered to watch a Barça match on a big screen in the square. Roger sat with his family. Watching the players cooperate and celebrate together helped him understand teamwork even better.
After the match, his father organised a little children’s tournament. Roger was chosen as captain. He worked hard to encourage his teammates and share the ball so everyone could take part.
His team did not win, but Roger finished the day happy. He had learnt that sport offered more than victory. It also helped people manage feelings, care for one another and work towards a shared goal.
Before bed, he remembered the applause every team had received. He dreamt of becoming a better player, with skill and respect for his teammates.
And so, among stars and footballs, he discovered that the most valuable part of any game was friendship, family support and helping one another.
