Isona was a curious six-year-old girl with a bright smile. For several days, her two top teeth had been wobbling. Whenever she ate an apple or a biscuit, she could feel them dancing in her mouth.
“Mum, look! My teeth will fall out soon!” she cried excitedly, showing her mother her crooked smile.
One afternoon, while playing in the park with her big sister Laia, Isona felt something strange. Suddenly, one of her teeth fell out!
“Laiaaaa! I’ve lost a tooth!” she shouted, showing her sister the tiny tooth in her hand.
Laia, who was always caring and protective, smiled.
“Tonight you must put it under your pillow for the Tooth Fairy!”
Isona loved the idea. But an even bigger surprise came just before bedtime: her second tooth fell out too.
“Two teeth in one day!” she said, her eyes wide. “The Tooth Fairy is sure to bring something very special!”
That night, she carefully placed both teeth beneath her pillow.
“I hope the Tooth Fairy remembers them!” she said with a slightly toothless smile.
It was hard to fall asleep because she kept imagining what the Tooth Fairy might bring. At last, her eyelids grew heavy and she drifted off.
The next morning, Isona woke very early and quickly slipped her hand under the pillow.
“The Tooth Fairy came!” she cried excitedly. Instead of her teeth, she found a little soft bag.
Inside were two wonderful surprises: a delicate necklace with a tiny silver star that shone in the sunlight from the window, and a hair clip decorated with a brightly coloured flower.
“Look, Laia! Look what the Tooth Fairy left me!” she called, running to her sister.
Laia smiled at the gifts.
“It’s beautiful, Isona! Now you have a magical necklace that will shine whenever you smile, and a clip for a princess’s hairstyle.”
Isona looked in the mirror as she put on the necklace and clipped back her hair.
“I love them! Now I look like a real fairy!”
That day, she went out to play with her friends, showing everyone her new toothless smile and her special presents. Best of all was remembering the magic of that night and the surprise left under her pillow.
And so Isona discovered that a wobbly or missing tooth was a sign of growing up and, in stories, a chance to dream of little magical gifts.
