Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Yahia and his twin brother were the same age, thirteen, but their lives at school were very different. While his brother was part of a soccer team and had many friends, Yahia always played alone. When the school’s big tournament was announced, Yahia wanted to join a team, but no one wanted him. Even his own brother thought he wasn’t good enough and didn’t want to include him on his team.
This situation hurt and angered him, but instead of giving up, Yahia made a decision: he would become a better player. Every day after school, he stayed on the field training. He practiced his shots, improved his ball control, and sprinted to gain speed. At first, his brother and the other children laughed at him. But over time, Yahia began to improve, and his brother stopped laughing. Now, he was starting to see him as a rival.
As the tournament approached, one of the teams lost a player and needed a replacement. Desperate, they offered the spot to Yahia. He knew it was his chance and accepted it with determination. At first, his teammates didn’t have much faith in him, but when the tournament began, Yahia showed everything he had learned. He played intelligently, ran fast, and made good passes. His team advanced to the final, where they coincidentally faced his brother’s team.
The match was very close. Yahia played with all his heart, and in the last minute, he had the opportunity to score the winning goal. He looked at his brother, who was staring at him in amazement, and with a precise shot, sent the ball into the back of the net. His team won the tournament!
After the match, his brother approached him. “I didn’t think you could do it… but you did. You played very well.”
Yahia smiled. He knew he had won not only the tournament, but also the respect of his brother and everyone else. That day he learned that talent isn’t everything: dedication, persistence, and self-confidence can open any door.
