Nuc was a very friendly squirrel, but a little… forgetful. He loved to jump from tree to tree and, above all, to collect acorns to store for the winter. The problem was that he collected so many that he couldn’t remember where he had hidden them!

One autumn morning, as the golden leaves gently fell from the trees, Nuc decided to check his hiding places. He looked behind the roots of an oak tree, under a large stone, and inside the hollow log where he used to play as a child… but he couldn’t find a single acorn!

“Oh no!” he exclaimed, worried. “Without my acorns, I’ll be very hungry this winter!”

So he went to find help. First, he found his friend, Mel the blackbird, who was singing high up on a branch.

“Mel, could you help me find my acorns?” “I can’t remember where I put them!”

“Of course I can, Nuc!” replied the blackbird. “From the top of the trees, I can look for any suspicious spots!”

Then they found Tuli the mole, who was always digging in the dirt looking for worms.

“Tuli, can you help us? Perhaps my acorns are buried near you.”

“No problem!” said the mole, poking his dirt-covered head out. “If there’s something hidden underground, I’ll find it!”

The three of them began their search: Mel looked down from above, Tuli dug, and Nuc checked every corner of the forest. After a long while, the blackbird called out:

“There! Behind that big rock!”

They all ran there, and sure enough, under some dry leaves, there was a small pile of acorns.

“My acorns!” exclaimed Nuc happily. “Thank you, my friends!”

But Tuli laughed and said,

“That’s just a small mountain. If you hid so many, there must be even more!”

And so, amidst laughter and games, they continued searching together throughout the forest. As the days passed, Nuc found all his acorns, thanks to the help of his friends.

When winter arrived, Nuc the squirrel had enough acorns to share with Mel, Tuli, and all the inhabitants of the forest. And that year, as the wind blew and the snow fell gently, the little squirrel learned a very important lesson:

“It’s better to hide a few things and remember where they are than to hide many and forget them all!”

And from that day on, every time he hid an acorn, he made a little map in his head… or sometimes, he simply left a leaf as a reminder.

And so, Nuc never went hungry again… nor did he ever forget where he had hidden his treasure.
