Once upon a time, in a small but very fortunate village, there lived a group of sisters and cousins who loved one another dearly. They were always having adventures together. Every corner of their village looked like something from a storybook, especially at Christmas, when lights shone in the streets and the air smelled of sweet nougat.

The sisters Laia, Clàudia and Júlia lived in a large house with wooden windows and a garden full of winter flowers. Júlia had red hair that glowed in the sunshine and a smile that made everyone happy. Their cousins Martina and Paula lived nearby, and they were just as excited about the festive season.

One winter evening, a few days before Three Kings’ Day, Júlia and Martina were building towers of blocks in the sitting room. Paula, Clàudia and Laia were carefully writing letters to the Three Kings. They wanted to make sure they forgot nothing! Their wishes included dolls, adventure books, a toy train and even a colourful scarf for their grandmother.

When the letters were ready, all five put on warm scarves and hats. Holding hands, they went out with their family to deliver their letters to the royal pages. The path was covered in snow, but they did not mind. Each step brought them closer to the pages, with their letter boxes and magical sacks.

In the village square, the pages welcomed them with sparkling clothes and friendly smiles. They promised that the Three Kings would read every letter carefully. The girls skipped home with happiness.

During those festive days, they remembered caring for the Tió, a smiling Christmas log from a Catalan tradition. They had fed it, kept it warm and enjoyed the treats beneath its blanket on Christmas Eve. Now another special night was approaching.

On the evening of 5 January, they prepared a tray of biscuits and a glass of milk for the Three Kings, who bring children gifts in this tradition. They also left carrots for the camels, to thank them for their long journey.

Then the girls went to bed with their hearts full of excitement. Their dreams were filled with stars, songs and magical adventures.

The next morning, sunlight streamed through the wooden windows. The girls woke eagerly. In the sitting room were presents tied with shining ribbons! Nearby, the Tió rested beneath its blanket, reminding them of all the happy times they had shared during the holidays.

That small village seemed happier than ever, thanks to the love, excitement and wonder shared by five very special girls: Júlia, Paula, Clàudia, Martina and Laia.
