The Lost Puppy

Jana is a five-year-old girl
with bright eyes and a smile that lights up the neighborhood. One morning, while Jana was playing in the park with her puppy Toby,
the puppy saw a butterfly and ran after it.

“Toby? Where are you?”
Jana asked, looking around.

But Toby wasn’t there.

Jana began to worry. She paced the park with small, quick steps, calling out her furry friend’s name. Just as she was about to cry, a very kind and friendly police officer
named Officer Martí appeared.

“Hello, Jana,” he said gently. “I see you’re looking for someone. Can I help?”

Jana, her eyes a little teary, nodded.

“I’ve lost Toby… He’s my best friend.”

Officer Martí crouched down to her eye level.

“Don’t worry. If we work together and don’t give up, we’re sure to find him.”

They began searching together: behind the swings, under the slide, by the fountain. Officer Martí asked the neighbors, and Jana listened intently.

Until, suddenly…

“Woof!”
The sound came from near a bush.

“Toby!” Jana shouted, running toward the sound.

There he was, his tail wagging fast, a butterfly perched on his nose!

Jana hugged him tightly.

“Thank you, Officer Martí!” she said, smiling.

“You did great, Jana. You didn’t give up, and you asked for help when you needed it. That’s very brave.”

Jana went home happy, with Toby following in her footsteps.
