Once upon a time, there were two siblings who were always ready for adventure. Three-year-old Adrià wore his starry pajamas that sparkled like the sun. Four-year-old Margarida preferred her polka-dot dress that looked like tiny leaves dancing.

One sunny morning, their mother hugged them and said tenderly, “If you’re going to play in the park, remember: clean clothes are happy.” But Adrià and Margarida were too excited about the perfect day ahead.

The park was a magical world. First, they found the biggest puddles and jumped in them nonstop. Splat! Splash! Splat! Mud splattered everywhere, painting their clothes brown. Then they discovered some magic paintbrushes (twigs with leaves) and started painting on the ground. Green, yellow, and red stains appeared on their clothes as if by magic.

When they got tired, they decided to roll down the greenest hill in the park. Rolling and rolling! The fresh grass left its green marks everywhere. Suddenly, Margarida looked at herself and her eyes widened in shock.

“Adrià!” she cried, frightened. “Look at us! We look like… mud monsters!”

Adrià looked at his stars, now brown and green, and his little face crinkled with worry. “Mom told us to take care of our clothes,” he whispered.

Just then, they heard a soft tinkling sound. A very special fairy appeared from behind a tree. She wore an apron made of plastic bags and carried a wand that was… a wooden spoon!

“Oh, oh, oh!” said the Recycling Fairy. “I see you had a lot of fun, but your clothes are telling a different story.”

The children lowered their heads, but the fairy smiled knowingly. “Don’t worry. Everything has a solution. Did you know that dirty clothes aren’t thrown away? They’re transformed!”

With a flick of her wand-spoon, she showed them the magic of caring:

First, they separated the heavily stained clothes from the old socks.

Then, with the fairy’s help (and a little magic from their mother), the washing machine began to sing: “Bubbles, bubbles, cleaning nonstop.”

Finally, the most magical thing of all: the old socks turned into two funny rag dolls, one for each of them.

The next morning, when the sun peeked through the window, Adrià and Margarida found their favorite pajamas and dresses clean and bright, hanging like banners of happiness. And in their toy basket, the new rag dolls were smiling at them.

“Clothes last longer if we take care of them!” said Margarida, hugging her doll.

“And old things can be new again!” added Adrià.

From that day on, they always remembered the Recycling Fairy’s lesson. And although they continued jumping in puddles and painting with twigs, now they knew that next would come… the magic of care!
