On the wide African savannah lived a wise lion known to everyone as the Great Lion. He was admired not only for his magnificent appearance, but also for finding answers to the animals’ problems.
One day, as the sun painted the horizon in warm colours, he called a meeting. His mighty roar summoned every creature, from the largest elephant to the smallest insect.
“Today I want to share an important lesson,” he said seriously. “Let us learn to make choices that are good for us and for those around us.”
The animals looked at one another, full of curiosity. Once everyone was listening, the Great Lion began a story.
“There was once a young lion called Leo. He still had much to learn, but he wanted to learn it. He often got into trouble because he acted without thinking about what might happen. One day, he decided to explore the forest without his mother, even though she had warned him not to go alone.”
The animals listened eagerly as the lion continued.
“Leo met many dangers among the trees. He even came close to being caught by hunters. Luckily, he escaped. But he realised that his decision had put both himself and other animals at risk. From that day on, he chose to listen to those with more experience and pause to think before acting.”
As the sun sank lower, the Great Lion described the sounds of the forest, its shadowy corners and Leo’s feelings. His listeners could imagine both the young lion’s fear and his relief at being safe again.
Little by little, the animals understood. Learning to make responsible choices mattered to everyone living on the savannah. The story showed how thinking and learning could change a life.
The Great Lion reminded them that wisdom does not appear overnight. It grows through questions, experience and the steady effort of learning something new.
The animals thanked him and promised to remember the lesson in their daily lives. From then on, they tried to listen to each other, offer help and consider how their choices might affect their neighbours.
The Great Lion remained their trusted adviser. He was happy to guide them towards a better future and remind them that there was always more to learn.
Together, they discovered that wisdom and kindness could make the savannah a better home for everyone.
